circa 1872, with round 7 1/2in. barrel specially produced for this model and signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA', blade fore-sight, small standing notch rear-sight to breech, applied ejector to right hand side of barrel, plain cylinder with roll-engraved naval engagement scene, colour hardened open frame (traces of colour), side loading gate, brass trigger-guard, iron backstrap and smooth walnut one-piece grip
